This is a group of 7 young people from the Westland Estate in North Belfast. They have come together as part of Public Achievement to look at issues that are important to them. They picked the issue of a lack of facilities in their local community, with a particular focus on getting an all weather sports facility. They have made a documentary film about life in the Westland which also highlights the danger of alcohol abuse.

We think that girls should be allowed to wear trousers to school. It is important for girls to have the same rights as boys in school. Trousers are warmer and it is safer to walk home from school when wearing them. We started a petition in school and made a presentation about why girls should be allowed to wear trousers. We also contacted the Equality Commission to talk about women's rights.
