New Knife Crime Campaign
Friday 30 May 08

A new £3m Govenrment Campaign against Youth Crime will contain real life pictures of knife wounds. The ads are suppose to show young people the dangers of carrying a knife and what the consequenses of carrying a knife can be.
Minister Vernon Coaker said that the new adverts' message was conveyed by young people the same age as would-be victims to maximise their impact. He added: "We know that many young people carry a knife because they are fearful and these adverts tell powerful stories about the dangers of going down that path.
"People have got to get the message that if they carry a knife, there's more chance of it being used against them."

What do you think about this campaign, will it stop you or your friends from carrying a knife, and why in the first place do people carry knives?
