The New Amnesty Youth Group
Tuesday 19 February 08

Amnesty International are setting up an Amnesty Youth Group in Northern Ireland, which is open to all young people between the ages of 14 and 18 who would like to campaign for human rights, work with the press and pick up skills relating to campaigning and lobbying for change. Amnesty International youth groups do performances and plays to raise awareness about human rights, put on conferences where young people can talk about their rights and change attitudes to violence.
In Amnesty International youth groups you can meet other people, learn how to run campaigns, and tackle controversial issues in order to try and make the world a better place. Young people who have been involved in their school groups and new supporters are welcome.
Musti, our EVS volunteer from Turkey, will also deliver a presentation about Public Achievement and WIMPS? at a forthcoming event. The venue is at Include Youth, ( opposite Fresh Garbage) 3 Rosemary St, BT1 1QA and date is 23rd February 2008, 2:00pm. For more information please look at Amnesty International.
