What is 108?
Thursday 22 November 07
What is 108? Chris Madden from Carrickfergus - one of the most active participants in WIMPS, talks about the 108 campaign which is going to Stormont on 20th November. Chris outlines his hopes for the establishment of a Youth Assembly for Northern Ireland.
If you haven't already heard, this campaign is gaining momentum - and the 20th November event promises to be an exciting engagement between young people and many of the 108 Members of the Legislative Assembly at Stormont. If you're interested in coming along, or getting involved in other aspects of the campaign, please contact Lisa or Helen at the Public Achievement offices.
In organising the event, and on the day, we are utilizing a funky new technology called Swarmteams. It is a messaging system where we can text people in groups (you can also use SMS and email) to organise them, or to get feedback and ideas. Again, contact the PA staff if you are interested in this.
The campaign is being supported by the Children's Commissioner's Office at NICCY, and by a wide range of schools, youth groups and other organisations across Northern Ireland.
There is also a very active discussion on the Youth Assembly in the forum on this site.
