Partying is only one of the ways thought it’s very likely to be one of the most spread. As we all know several substances are consumed in pubs, clubs or private parties as a way of socializing, trying to increase fun or even disconnecting or steaming.

The risks of illegal drugs are well known but there are also several legal substances that mean some risks worthily to take into account if we make use of them whatever the reason.

Poppers are one of this legal drugs in Northern Ireland. Poppers is the street term for various alkyl nitrites taken for recreational purposes through direct inhalation. They are suppose to cause head rush, euphoria, uncontrollable laughter or giggling, and other sensations that result from the blood pressure drop are often felt to enhance sexual pleasure.

The risk using poppers on regular basis include the rare disorder of methemoglobinemia, the weakening of the immune system, burns if spilt on skin, loss of consciousness, headaches, and red or itching rashes around the mouth and nose. Finally, there is a very dangerous correlation between poppers and sexual transmitted diseases due to the fact that they are likely to increase high-risk sexual behaviours.
